Oak Wilt Treatment & Prevention:
The Texas Forest Service in collaboration with the International Society of
Arboriculture (ISA) Texas and Texas A&M university has developed a new
program for Certified Arborists on how to identify and manage oak wilt. Texas
Oak Wilt Certification signifies that the individual Arborist is ISA Certified and
has received special training on the Identification and Management of Oak Wilt
in Texas. Warning! To help prevent oak wilt, don't do any pruning on your oak
trees from February through June.

Crown Raising:
Let us properly raise canopy of lower limbs off and away from your roof,
gutters, drive way etc.
Proper Mistletoe Removal:
Broadleaf mistletoe absorbs both water and mineral nutrients from its host
trees. Healthy trees can tolerate a few mistletoe branch infections, but
individual branches may be weakened or sometimes killed. Heavily infested
trees may be reduced in vigor, stunted, or even killed, especially if they are
stressed by other problems such as drought or disease
Proper Ball Moss Removal:
Ballmoss is most often found on the dead interior branches of older live oaks.
Although it can be found on dying trees, ballmoss also thrives on healthy ones.
Death may be caused by many factors, including root damage, soil compaction,
construction damage, drought and disease.
Roof Clearance:
Those lower limbs rubbing on your roof can do a lot of damage to the shingles.
They also make it easier for squirrels and other pesky rodents to get on your
roof and in your attic Jody's Tree Service will remove those lower limbs 3-6 feet
from your roof properly.
Cabling:
Cables are installed in trees to limit movement of limbs judged to have a weak
connection or to support heavy limbs by connecting two or more limbs together.
Additional support may be needed due to split or decayed crotches.
